Cocktail

Finally I have also watched the typical bollywood love triangle between best friends titled Cocktail.  I was eagerly waiting for the movie and it stood up to my expectation. The movie is nice, enjoyable and funny because of the catchy dialogues and of course songs are the topping on the cake. But i found the second half li'l disappointing and even after that I watched it twice.
The story is about the cliched love triangle in bollywood that ends with the sacrifice of one person. The scenes were easily predictable like when Veronica meets Meera, its easily assume that she will take Meera to her home; Veronica would meet an accident; now she will sacrifice her love and such other things.
Deepika (Veronica) is seen similar to her other character that she has played; a bindas girl who parties hard and lives life to its fullest. Her entry in all of her movies are almost same. Diana (Meera) on the other hand looks fresh, sweet and modest Indian girl while Saif (Gautam) in his old ‘Love Aaj Kal’  awtaar flirting with girls no matter where he is.  Boman (Gautam’s uncle) was an entertaining element of the movie while Dimple justified the role of Gutlu's mother.
Songs were good, especially Second Hand Jawani, Tumhi ho Bandhu Sakha, Yaariyan and Angreji Beat. But there was something missing that could not let me digest the entire movie. Like other ol’ movies washroom played important role here also. It is the same place where Veronica meets Meera and take her to her home..
What i liked in this movie, among others was Meera’s dress, her loose trousers and black-white striped t-shirt with loose shrug were very attractive.

Let Girls bubble in Range and Anger

I would appreciate the trend of social networking as Facebook profile of Amarjyoti was circulated and ridiculed among public. Also, i do not hesitate to say that i'm little bit upset with the media. Especially i feel shame on local media of Guwahati that could not expose the horrible incident even after four days. Yes i'm talking about Guwahati molestation case in which a 16 years old (class 11th) girl was molested by around 30 men in full public view for about half an hour outside a famous night club.

Literally I feel shame on local media of Guwahati that such a big issue came in light after four days of the incident when the video has been uploaded on YouTube and sparked across the world. Incident took place on July 10 while police came into action on July 11 and arrested 4 (Thank you so much police uncle that you have arrested at least 4 otherwise I never expected action from your side). Even i doubted over the role of state women commission or other local woman activist. However the footage has been sparked on public and it highlighted the faces of 30 accused, police have arrested only four although the main accused Amarjyoti absconded.

Instead of helping the girl who was being molested at public, a reporter from electronic media was busy with making footage, how pathetic it is….! (kaash ye ladki us reporter k ghar ki hoti...by God tahalka mach jata). No doubt that footage can be purchased at higher price or it can give him promotion in his office (news channel) but he has not made judgment with humanity. Seriously i'm unable to understand the mental status of the crowd when the girl was crying for help and said, "meri izzat mat kharab karo, tumari bhi behan hai...! (Actually i heard this dialogue in the video uploaded on YouTube). Incident was witnessed by hundreds of people and everyone would have daughter and sister into their house. But no one had courage to help the girl although people has advertised the accused by highlighting their name on hoardings and social networking sites .
Now lets see the psychological and emotional status of the girl, how she would be consoled by her family members or friends. I doubt how early she would be comfortable in her school or society.

Has a day passed without any rape or girl child dumped?

Apart from the Guwahati molestation case, there was also an incident in today’s newspaper that forced me to think about the future of our country. In my school days I read several motivational stories and came to know that India is the country where women are worshipped like God. It is the country where women like Jhansi Ki Rani, Devi Ahilya Bai, goddess Durga and other were made country proud of their birth. Then what happened to the people of our country that they are killing their newly born drastically?

Of course I’m talking about the newborn girl who was flushed down in the toilet of a moving train on track near Jagatpura (Rajasthan) and later declared dead by the doctors. Why the parent’s hand did not tremble before flushing down their daughter? I think they were deaf that’s why they could not listen the howling of the angel. L

Why there is no such day that passed without any crime against the women? Every day we can read story into newspaper related to the women crime (either there is rape, molestation or girl child murder). It has forced the girls of our country to sing, "Agle janam mohe bitiya na kijo."

Miss you Darji…

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I'd walk up to Heaven
And bring you home again.

Death news of Indian veteran actor and wrestler Dara Singh (original named as Deedar Singh Randhawa), has forced the acting fraternity, fans, friends and colleagues to recall few moment that they spent with him.
Dara Singh demised on Thursday morning at his residence due to prolonged illness. He was the first Action King of Bollywood and Deshi Spiderman for the fans. He was the first Indian hero who started the trend of hero having 8 pack abs and taking off shirts . Apart from bollywood acting, production and direction, he was also inspired from Indian Pehalwani. He competed against several professional wrestlers of US. During one of the most exciting fights in the history of wrestling competitions, Darji lifted King Kong (200kg, Australian) over his head and twirled him around and after that the crowd became crazy for him.

Bollywood fraternity on Darji’s funeral

I’m also in white but sorry,
I can’t forget my style. Actually media matters na..!

As Darji is favourite for everyone, several stars bid adieu and mourn for him. Thanks to each and everyone for being well dressed up in white colour during the funeral ceremony (of course…! It's mark for the peace). It has become the trend of bollywood to be dressed up in white colour in funeral ceremony. In-fact all bollywood stars necessarily keep 2-3 pairs of white cloths into their wardrobe for attending the funeral ceremony of their beloved on (However we should not comment over the issue as these stars use to keep maintain their wardrobe with all colours). But as I noticed, as soon as celebrity’s manager gets the death news, they immediately prepare the white clothes for their masters J (perfect service na?). Well, I’m sorry to say that Manoj Kumar and Fardeen Khan’s manager were not ready with their white clothes so they managed it with black colour (beware Mr manager… your master would not take time to throw you out of the home). J

Ye Daulat Bhii Le Lo,Ye Shoharat Bhii Le Lo
Bhale Chhiin Lo Mujhase Merii Javaanii
Magar Mujhako Lautaa Do Bachapan Kaa Saavan

Jagjit Singh

Gone are the days when I was too much fascinated by the rain and enthusiastically used to enjoy it for hours. I would get drenched in rain and would make myself comfortable with a mug of coffee. And of course the petrichor cannot be missed and it use to be one of my favorite smells. Petrichor would make me relax like anything.

Like every year, this year too I planned several things to welcome the rain shower and i was eagerly waiting for the monsoon to celebrate it. Every day I would check newspapers for monsoon news. Everyday i use to pray “Please God baarish kara do…” and finally one day it rained. Wahoo!  Monsoon has finally arrived, drenching the entire city in the happy and joyous mood.
But why it did not bring happiness for me this time? I waited for monsoon for a quite long time but when it arrived, i didn't feel like going out. There is nothing interesting with the rain drops, this time and also i'm not getting a 'feel good' factor. Instead of bringing happiness it has, in fact, washed away those happiness and hope to which was with me since a long time.
I didn't like the petrichore this time and surprisingly, i didn't sit on my window with a mug of coffee. I'm not enjoying the pearl like rain drops, neither the wind. Even i'm no more interested in the greenery spread out in the park nor the sweet chirping.

While sitting in my balcony, i was reminded of my good ol' days where i use to own a boat, of course a paper boat. I would play with my friends and compete whose boat will not sink first. At the time, my little heart was so innocence that it was happy and contented with my owning a boat. I had no dreams, ambition or passion to chase. Chasing always meant the chor in the game chor-police. I would cry for chocolates, balloons and other stupid things because i use to consider them as part of my life.
The only that i miss today is the time spent with my friends and parents. I miss the days where i would wander without any desire, responsibility, worry like a free spirit.

Manicured nails

How fascinating it is to grow up your nails. Whenever we see anyone's manicured nails, we cannot stop our eyes to check our own. It happened with me when I saw the self manicured nails of my friend and decided to develop my own.
I realized that I have dirty nails that look like gutter and I became conscious to maintain it. I started to grow up my nails but I felt nervous to show my hand anyone as it would look odd. Gradually my nails grew up and I painted it enthusiastically with blue coloured paint. While painting my nails, I smelled it deeply with a ear to ear smile on my face. Finally now I’m also one of those girls having manicured nailsJ. Wow…its looking nice na???J And now I have all the benefits of big nails. I can open can and bottles easily. While itching myself, I would feel easy (when mosquito bites me)J. I will paint my nails matching it with my dresses. I started to spend most of the time in thinking about nail paint colours.
But it is right that ‘every coin has two sides’ and same happened with me. I was wearing my contact lenses as I had to attend my b’day party but I couldn't be successful in wearing lenses because of my big nails. Finally i left the plan and wore my big spects L (demerit of big nails). Well, I attended the party and came back to my room but again I was angry because of my nails as it gave me a bloody scratch on my hand L. I cried whole night for the pain and said to myself , ufff kyu bada kar liya nails. Even I could not put salt properly while making salad during the dinner just because of big nails.
Anyway, now I’m enjoying my holidays and making coffee in my kitchen. My coffee is ready now and i'm going back to my room with coffee. Ouchhhhh….! Once again my nails strike the kitchen door and is broken (little figure only). Now I'm forced to cut down all the nails as it is looking odd.  Again I’m comfortable with my small and unpainted nails that have certain benefits also. J

‘let’s go honey, if you run I will run, if you rest I will also take rest’

I’m feeling good to say hello after such a long time on my scribble. Well, I took DNA Indore and read an article “Deserted Child Brought to MYH” on Tuesday. I read the entire article with interest and it made me curious to know more about the issue. Through the article I came to know that MYH has received 40 deserted newly born (for your information MYH is the most popular and biggest hospital of the city). Reading the article, curiosity pushed me towards Google uncle to read old editions of the newspaper and find out more about it.

Education and Fetidness: Best buddy forever

Last week there was an article in DNA-Indore which informed that two jars containing eight foetuses and one uterus preserved in formalin were found thrown in an open drainage. The foetuses were two to six months old and most probably it was thrown by some medical establishment by violating the guidelines. Anyway, I searched for few more articles related to the topic and read an article in the Times of India, “After Rape, It’s Foeticide Capital Too.” The article stated that as per the NCRB report total 132 cases of foeticide were reported in country in 2011 and Madhya Pradesh tops with 38 cases. There is increase of 20 cases as compared to the last year.

Fetidness figure

Year   total cases in the country   cases in MP
2010             111                                 18
2011             132                                 38
2012            expected to be double*

Now i was eager to find out the literacy rate of MP as well as of the country. India's effective literacy rate has recorded a rise of 9.2 percent and it has reached 74.4 percent according to the census 2011. The literacy rate has improved sharply among the female as compared to the males.

Literacy rate

Year      India      MP
2001     64.84     60.53
2011     74.40     70.60

There were 914 girls born for every 1,000 boys under the age of six (census 2011) as compared to 927 girls for every 1,000 boys (census 2001) while in the field of education there was good news as census showed the literacy rate going up.
Reading both the fact I was puzzled between the figures. I noticed that the literacy rate of our country as well as that of Madhya Pradesh is increasing slowly and at the same time the cases of women foeticide has also showed a slight growth. I feel education and women foeticide, which is a crime and experts excuses that it happens due to illiteracy, are best buddy. Both (education and foeticide) says  ‘let’s go honey, if you run I will run, if you rest I will also take rest’. :(

And journey begins...

Again my journey begins with the city of strangers where i'm physically present but my soul is still in the city that was stranger for me once.

It was August 15, 2010 when i came to Bhopal with lots of passion and spirit of Journalism. The city seemed me to be full of strangers and it seemed quite tough to spend my days there. New college, new home and new friends, everything was new for me and i felt quite nervous and uncomfortable everywhere. Everyday i wished to go back to my home town but the spirit of Journalism did not let me leave the city. Whenever i talked to my friends, i abused the city. I complained that Bhopal is too boring. I cursed that yaha k log bahut bure hai, yaha ka khana-pina bahut ganda hai, loi achi jagah nai hai, kuch b acha nai hai. I had horrible dreams at night in the city (today i have fairy dreams in the city) and everyday i called my mother to call me back at home.
Gradually i spent my two years in the city where everything seemed me too strange, new and uncomfortable. I have earned lots of love and affection of several friends, teachers and roommate in those two years. I have become habitual of the life of the city.
Finally, the day comes when i have to leave the city (Bhopal) after two years and i have chance to go back to the other city. While leaving the city, again the same feeling knocked the door of my heart that i felt before two years back (when i was leaving my home town). I felt that i was losing a part of my body and wished, kaash koi rok le yaar.
However the city was stranger for me and i hated everything of the city, but today i'm in love with the city and want to reside here. But its another truth of life that we have to accept the changes either good or bad and that is called Profession. The only difference is, today i want to go back to the city that was stranger for me once (Bhopal) and that time i wished to go back to my home town. It seems too strange na, the place that was totally strange for me and where i was feeling alone, has become my second home town today. Now whenever i use to get holidays or week off, i like to visit the city that is my second home town . I wish the same situation would arise again when i will be leaving the current city in future.
